Melanie
I am at my wits end with Maxwell these last few weeks. He is now 11 months and has started spraying in the house. He has peed on my NEW bed set 1 day after putting it on the bed, on my very expensive treadmill, on anything he can lift his leg on downstairs including the cat box!! What the heck am I supposed to do with him? They say never rub their nose in it or correct them after the fact unless you catch him in the act. Well, that was all good for a while but now he gets both!! I love him to death but I refuse to have a dog spray in my home. I have had 2 other male dogs for over 14yrs dachsunds, and had never had this sort of a problem. Please help! Would neutering him help? I have read about the belly band, but question it? Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly!! Melanie :?: Maxwell
Posey
Nicky our 11 month old Cairn was doing the same thing. And much to my upset we had to have him neutered. They want to mark territory. You can use the belly bands I don't know that if that is a permanent cure to try and break them or not. Think twice about neutering-that means you can not show him or breed him. But if you just want a good pet then neutering is what was recommended to us.
