finding show

I have a dog that a friend who shows Manchester terriers says would make a good show dog. I have not idea. How do I go about finding a show in our area, Louisiana, texas. I would like to take my dog to a show and see what people have to say before I invest money in training, trainers, handlers, etc.

www.infodog.com has information about shows all over the country. We go to shows in our area (our dogs are pet quality from show breeders) and we've found the Cairn people to be a very nice bunch, hope it is the same in Texas.
