When to spay?

Hello there my beautiful baby girl Chacha is turning 6 months on Thursday…My vet told me she should be spay after her first period or before 9 months old… wondering if anyone has any input on when us the right time to do it?

Chacha is beautiful!!

Our vet told us to neuter Atticus around 9 months, but our breeder suggested that we wait until after a year, or even longer. I have a friend  that was a breeder, and she said the same thing, so we had Atticus neutered at 19 months. I believe the reason for waiting is due to bone growth.
