question about pics

A 'dymamic' image is a link that goes to a script, rather than the direct address to an image. Because unkind people can do unpleasant things with scripts - and because I allow people to post to the forum who are not registered or logged in - I simply can't afford from a security standpoint to allow dynamic images to be used. All the better image hosting services provide methods to link directly to a picture, which is allowed.

This is an example of a 'dynamic' link that would not be allowed:

http://www.example.com/mypicture.jpg?user=bradl

The ?user=bradl that follows the image name is the clue that the link is to a script.

This type of link IS allowed (indeed, required):

http://www.example.com/mypicture.jpg

Generally, if your URL (address) has a question marks or equal signs, or stuff after the picture extension (jpg, gif, etc.) or other indications of a script, the forum will not allow it to be posted.

Hope this explains it a bit.
