bradl
https://postimages.org I encountered an image hosting service on another forum I frequent and tried using it a few times to see if I could recommend it. It seems to be pretty good. This is an example of a sample image hosted there: Uploading the image is simple. Similar to here on CairnTalk you can either click a Choose Image button and navigate to the image on your desktop or mobile device, or if on desktop just drag the image onto the page. The page then gives you a multitude of embedding options; the one (the only one) that you want is the Direct Link. Simply copy and paste the Direct Link into the CairnTalk post box (where you write your post) and the image will embed. They don't seem to charge anything for basic use, with a very reasonable file size limitation. Quote What is the maximum allowed file size on PostImage? Images uploaded by both anonymous uploads and free accounts are limited to 24Mb and 10k x 10k pixels. Premium accounts are limited to 48Mb and 10k x 10k pixels. Better still they don't seem to plaster advertising all over your image; they just wrap it so that if someone keeps clicking on the image they'll end up on postimages where they might choose to use the service. Even the paid plans seem quite reasonable; I'm just using the free version — I did create a free account so I could organize my images by topic — I'm pretty sure no one needs to see shaving hardware pics on CairnTalk. If you would like to use images without using up your attachment allocation on CairnTalk or doing a lot of manual resizing, image hosting may be a good way to go. 1 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Eliz222
https://i.postimg.cc/tJt3sm1T/sept28c.jpg I'm checking to see if this works. I tried a short video clip, but couldn't get it to work. Thanks for the website, Brad!

bradl
Yeah I think video clips are a different beast altogether. YouTube is still the best there is for video. If I paste the direct link from the Share menu on postimages where Atticus is, it just loads as below: I wonder if there is a permissions issue. Let me log out and log back in as my Test User and see what happens. I'll report back Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions?
