Pepper Bug's Mom
Brodie managed to break his toe the day after Thanksgiving...we have no idea how he did it. I took him to the dog park on Friday and on the way back he started limping. I had to carry him home....all uphill. He doesn't play rough at the dog park, mostly just looks for stuff to chew on and then trot along with us as we walk along the trail. I waited a few days to see if he would recover from the limp but ended up taking him to the vet 4 days later...they couldn't believe that he wasn't yowling and howling because of his toe....anyhow, they took x-rays and lo and behold his toe is broken. He has had a cast on for several weeks. He gets it off on Dec. 23 and hopefully all will be well with the toe. It took him about 2 days to figure out he can still clump along and bark at squirrels... 2 Quote Pepper's Mom

sanford
What a sad photo. ..Adorable, but sad! I'm always impressed with how stoic our cairns are... No yowling from Brodie - and so accepting of his cast. Did you have to use a cone to keep him from chewing on the cast? Glad to know he'll be rid of it in time for Christmas! Happy Holidays, Brodie 2 Quote FEAR THE CAIRN!

Hillscreek
It's not that easy to break a toe - what the heck was you up to Brodie? You look kinda cute with your cast. Good to know a broken toe doesn't keep a cairn from doing what he is meant to do. Get well soon Brodie
Ripper70
Poor little guy. He looks up to the challenge, though. Maybe get him a pirate's hat and an eyepatch to complete the look. Arrrg! 2
Pepper Bug's Mom
He leaves the cast alone - no chewing on it. Had to move a bigger crate in so he could stretch out...he loves the bigger crate! Got his toes trimmed yesterday and didn't put up a fuss... 2 Quote Pepper's Mom
