Sam I Am
This is the reason I home cook for our dogs...I know exactly what goes into their bowls every day. Produce and meat that we eat ourselves. Even the brands from Champion pet foods (Acana & Orejin) which were thought to be one of the top line of dog food one could buy is in trouble. https://www.vmdtoday.com/news/class-action-lawsuit-filed-against-pet-food-manufacturer What is troubling is what are the long term effects of these contaminants being fed over the years. Guest dog person
Anyone can file a lawsuit. I'll wait for the facts to come out. I have heard good and bad about these products, we tried Orijen once, the dogs just didn't care for it. https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/forums/topic/orijen-acana-lawsuit/#post-112235 https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/forums/topic/cleanlabelproject-org/#post-104484 https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/forums/topic/orijen-acana-lawsuit/#post-112835
Guest dog person
Also: Nestle in talks to buy petfood maker for $2B Nestlé SA is in talks to acquire a majority stake in Canada's Champion Petfoods for more than $2 billion, according to people familiar with the matter, as the consumer-food giant boosts investment in higher growth businesses to help offset https://www.marketwatch.com/story/nestle-in-talks-to-buy-petfood-maker-for-2b-2018-07-02 Nestle owns Purina. Is this a good thing? Well, at least Purina employs veterinary nutritionists and does feeding trials. I have read that it is best to go with a large company that has been around a long time. Not that small companies can't produce a good product..... Best to do a little homework and talk to your vet if you have any questions.
