gd4
My sweet but highly active and trouble seeking little girl will be 8 mo. at the end of the month. She is currently still eating the dry food that the breeder gave her dogs (Nutri Life Gold Plus Dog Food - All Stages). I recently switched her from feeding 3 x per day to 2 x day. Same amount per day - 1 cup. I give her varied healthy dog treats throughout the day but am determined this time around NO people food. I believe this is a good food; however, I want to switch her to a reputable commercial brand such as Merrick Duck and Sweet Potato which I have read good reviews about quality and minimal recalls. I would appreciate suggestions on what you are feeding your Cairns. The current food is difficult to get and is made in the U.S. by it appears an independent group. I have contacted numerous times to find out where to buy and the guy never responds; therefore, this makes me uncomfortable and illustrates to me that they may not care too much about customers. Strange. I am considering a switch to the Merrick Duck and Sweet Potato Dry Food (I purchased a bag). My guess is I should start mixing in a little for each meal for about a week before I make the complete move? Thanks in advance
sanford
I assume you've seen the "Dog Food Advisor" food reviews online. They enthusiastically approve the Merrick product you will be introducing, and describe the ingredients in great detail. I feed Ruffy an ever-changing variety of types of foods and brands, so I'm not one to offer advice, but it looks like you are off to a good start, mixing the Merrick into her current diet!😊 1 Quote FEAR THE CAIRN! gd4
Hi Sanford! Yes, I reviewed the foods on "Dog Food Advisor." I think I made a decent choice. It probably is not a bad idea to switch them up from time to time. I'm sure the dogs appreciate it.
