sanford
Hey Brad - Do my eyes deceive me, or did I actually detect a visual glitch in the new brown header photo with the 3 cairn heads? (Or perhaps it would qualify as a typo?)... The title reads: CairnTalk .net Shouldn't it read as: CairnTalk.net as one word without an open space between letter k and . ? If I'm wrong, I apologize and hope you won't hate me for being such a ****. But if I'm right, it's just because I can't help myself - catching typos, (other than my own) is just about my favorite thing to do! P.S. I'm not sure if "Forum Support" was the right place to put this entry, but I was unable to find a forum called "No-Man's Land." Edited August 15, 2017 by sanford Quote FEAR THE CAIRN! bradl
This is the place. And I consider pointing out typos the work of angels If only life itself came with an editor. Oddly enough though I recently added that space in deliberately. My thought process (for what little it's worth ) was along the lines of CairnTalk being the everyday casual site name while the .net adds the address. Previously I made the distinction using a different color (and/or font-size) for the .net part. That involves editing the underlying HTML which gets overwritten whenever I have to reinstall a theme. I'm getting lazier and the site name is in a setting file that's easier to get to and survives most updates. My other concern with a color shift was having to be mindful of each of the possible header backgrounds from the picker. I don't want to cause unnecessary stress and I don't want to contribute to a decline in typographical literacy so I'll probably delete the space and try another approach. Or do nothing. sanford
I had second thoughts about sending my email, thinking it might have sounded snarky and I hope it didn't come across that way. (I agree that a color change for .net would have been a nice design solution, had it been practical). Thanks for being such a good sport, Brad! Quote FEAR THE CAIRN! Sam I Am
Sanford you are never nor would you ever be snarky! 1 Quote Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
bradl
Pretty much the opposite of snarky, I'd say. I'm interested to hear when something gets noticed for better or worse. As I mentioned, I hold editors, proofreaders and extra sets of eyes in high regard. Even when sometimes I have to say, "Er, I meant to do that " or "Uh, thanks for your input."
