Dogband1
I knew I forgot something ..... Reilly sleeps in a crate at night, but during the occasional afternoon nap, he tries to get under the quilt to sleep, which I discourage. Is this unhealthy? Lack of oxygen? This, like laying in the sun, is unique to this pup for us.
Lupinegirl
Sleeping under a blanket never bothered my cousin's chihuahua. I liken it to wolves and foxes breathing through their fluffy tails or denning underground (or under snow). Yes, it can be unhealthy, especially if a collar gets snagged on a thread or something and he can't get out, but if he wants to burrow, let him burrow. Nikki has taken to burying his nose in his blankets when he wants to sleep. XD It took us years to figure out how to position the blankets just right so he wouldn't keep scratching them and throwing them out of his bed. Lynn in TN
When Kelly does this it is to get away from the light. She wants to be in the same room we are in even if she wants to sleep, so she will get under a blanket. Prissy on the other hand doesn't care if she is in the room with us. If there is too much light for her she goes to one of the bedrooms, and gets under a bed.
