hheldorfer
I tried to respond to a post but instead of allowing me to post a new reply (with no quotes) the "reply to post" box displays an earlier comment I made on the same post, as if I was trying to edit my earlier comment. (Hope that makes sense!) Glitch?
bradl
Sort of / not really. Either way, you're not doing anything wrong The editor will very frequently "hold" its previous contents. This can be either handy or a pain, depending on if it's saved something you feared you'd lost, or if it's just saved something you need to clear out. It has been complained about on the vendor's support forums and has gotten somewhat better over time. It used to actually insert undeletable "zombie" attachments from previous posts. (That was fixed before I upgraded CairnTalk, thank heavens.) At least now all we have to do is clear the editor before composing new posts/replies. Sometimes you may also have to delete a previous uploaded attachment — just click the trash can icon on the attachment — but at least it doesn't insert itself into *every* subsequent post. The editor is a weird thing. In ye olden days the editor was custom coding by the software vendor. For a variety of reasons they have chosen to move to a deep integration of a commonly available third-party editor (ckeditor). They are improving the integration over time, I will give them that. So this "feature" may disappear at some point in the future. Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions?
