Saturday Morning Pet Shows

I've been watching two very interesting shows on Saturday Mornings. "Calling Dr. Pol" is about a vet in Michigan. He does house calls at farms. Holy Cow!! One time they had to corral a cow in the barn with the steel gates. This cow gave a kick and bent that steel! This vet knows what he is doing and got out of the way or he would have been knocked out. Another time his partner vet had to tend to a cow with a twisted stomach. They had to turn this cow upside down with ropes and the vet stitched the stomach back in place. I think of Dempsy's Farm when I watch these and wonder if Dempsey's Mom has to go through things like this. I remember she got knocked down one time.

 

Then there was a show when a bunch of baby goats had to get de-horned. That made me think of Tuesday's goat ranch. Baby goats are really cute.

 

Then there is Cesar Milan's show. On one show there was a Chihuahua that wasn't going to let Cesar sit on the Chihuahua's seat on the couch. So Cesar just walked over and sat down anyway making the Chihuahua move .  That is what I have to do with Malcolm sometimes. He gets settled in the lazyboy and isn't going to move so I say "Ok I'll just sit on you then"  and I go to sit down. Malcolm moves. I still think if Cesar spent 10 minutes with Malcolm he would be running down the street screaming "HELP HELP".

 

Well the farm shows are very interesting to a city guy like me. These vets have some hard work that I never had seen before. So do the farmers.

I love watching shows like that. I am always in awe of farmers as well. I wouldn't last a day on a farm.

 

I do the same with Lola (pretend I'm going to sit on her).  It works!

I have to catch that "Dr. Pol" show one of these days.  One of my neighbors mentioned it too.  What channel is it on?

It is channel 9 using the roof antenna. That is WGN. Oh that is channel 9-1. They have 9-2 and 9-3 also since they went digital with the antenna. Not sure what channel that would be if you are using cable. Look for WGN and you should find it. Calling Dr. Pol starts at 7:00 am and goes until 8:30 am when the Cesar Milan shows start. Good tv shows if you are up that early on a Saturday.

Thanks, Malcolm's Dad!  I'll try to remember to record it this week.  We're always up early but Saturdays are usually very busy.
