josie&holly
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-29170371 I was horrified yesterday evening to read and hear about a fire at the Mancheter Dogs Home which normally houses about 200 dogs. Apparently it was a arson attack by a young boy! Which is beyond words. They now think about 50 dogs died but thanks to the Greater Manchester Fire Service 150 were saved but some are injured. What is amazing is the fact that so much money was raised in such a short time and that so many people went down to the site with offers of help, blankets, crates etc. A local builder has offered to rebuild for nothing. This restores your faith in humanity that so many care about the dogs. Sam I Am
How utterly horrible that someone would want to kill so many innocent animals. But you are right to say so many people came to rescue And help the surviving dogs, restoring some faith in what is becoming a very troubled world we live in. Hillscreek
As another paper points out "without one stupid kid 60 dogs would not have died. But without hundreds of stupid adults those dogs would not have been there in the first place" . http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/12/manchester-dogs-home-fire-blame-adults Please let's all think before buying that cute little pup cairn or otherwise.
