Subforum for non-Cairns?

A question was raised if there might be value in having a sub-forum where folks could feel comfortable posting about their non-Cairn companions. That seems like it should be doable, so I created a sub-forum for that purpose:

Cairn Alumni and Housemates
Cairn Terrier owners past, present, or future can post about non-Cairn pets here.

We're still a Cairn forum, first and foremost.  Posts and topics relating to Cairns specifically still belong in the relevant category (if one exists) regardless of whether the Cairn is on our lap today or is a figure of memory or history. However apparently other breeds and species exist  hence this experiment to offer them a place at the hearth, so to speak.

I retain the right to tinker with this subforum — in particular I may change the name or description later. This was my "first draft" at trying to characterize the purpose of such a sub-forum.  It feels a bit wordy to me but can't think of how to shorten it unambiguously at the moment. Concision comes slowly at times. As the saying goes, "I'd have written less had I more time." :)

Hmm. For forum posting purposes it would rarely matter. I may be a Cairn purist more or less but my hope here was more to offer a safe harbor than create an isolation ward. I originally felt Dog Park served that purpose but am willing to make it more explicit to see if that helps or hurts.

That was a bit of my concern - don't want some to feel they have to be in a different spot because this is a cairn forum and they don't currently have a cairn.

We learn a lot from those of us who have or who have or have had cairns plus other buddies,
