Sam I Am
Well it goes to show you can never really trust a dog. Even a fluffy cute one! Our neighbour has two Bichons. One is very sweet the other a nut ball. The nut ball still has his , and that might be part of the problem. He is bad news at the best of times, but when my neighbour (who I really like) came out to chat before taking them for a walk, after a few minutes of us talking , he just lunged at my leg, left a whole row of teeth marks on my knee and broke the skin. She was horrified but I am not surprised as he tries to attack anything that moves. What what got me is that she never got after him except to say, bad dog. I told her thank goodness I wasn't a small child because that would have been a face attack. I would like to say my dogs would never do that, but you never know. I also would like to think if one of my dogs ever did that they would be heavily reprimanded ..and pretty sure that would never happen again. hheldorfer
IMO, your neighbor needs some lessons on dog ownership. The second that dog lunged at you I would have tackled him, rolled him on his side and put the fear of God into him. He would have then been escorted away on a leash and placed in solitary for a while. It boggles my mind that anyone would stand by and watch this happen without either making an attempt to stop the attack or correcting the dog when it was over. Around here if you had gone to the doctor or hospital because of the bite, there would have been an investigation. I hope you recover quickly! Sam I Am
I was glad to hear he had his rabies vaccine! I don't get the owners behaviour either! Hillscreek
Maybe owner afraid of Bichon and that no doubt could add to his disgraceful behavior. Yep severe repremanding needed immediately plus offer to take you to doc and pay for the visit.
Malcolm's Dad
Oh no glad you weren't hurt any worse. Your neighbor doesn't know much about dogs. That was something that really did call for a reprimand. Malcolm does that too, he wants to attack any person or animal he sees. Thing is I know it and so do all the people in the neighborhood. Shame is they would really like to be friendly to Malcolm but Malcolm won't have it. Reprimanding Malcolm does no good it doesn't phase him one bit. So I keep him away from people and people stay away from him on their own. Hope you heal up fast and don't be afraid to growl at that Bichon or be aggressive right back at him. He might get the message from you since he won't get that message from the owner.
Dempsy's Mom
To bad. She must be a very passive person not to react. I don't understand why a person would be outraged if their dog bit someone. None the less witnessing it. Quote Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
kieiras mom
I too would be outraged at that behavior. It is a disgrace to be subjected that. She also needs lessons in proper ways to control her dog

Autumn & Lola
Wow, Terrier Lover, that is awful. I'm sorry for the bite, but glad it wasn't worse. Yup, her behavior was worse. Shame on her.
