Grooming

Skylar

Recommended Posts

Skylar has had this weird smell coming off her. When I took her to the vets, they cleaned her anal glands since I mentioned a smell. But it was still there, I pointed out to the vet it seemed to be coming from her muzzle. Her hair has been long and her muzzle feels wet a lot of the time. Vet asked me to keep it dry just to avoid any skin infection. I noticed this helped a lot but the smell was still lingering.

I trimmed down the long hair (some going in her eyes) today and the smell has gone away. I also wiped and dried it down.

I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and could the smell be from excessive tearing (due to hair in the eye). I need to take Skylar to a professional groomer. I just couldnt wait so I thought I could "fix" it for now.
