Coat and grooming questions

Roux's Mom

Recommended Posts

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered a hundred times.

Roux is just about six months. Her coat is definitely changing, getting shaggier and, is it my imagination, oilier? I've only bathed her a few times. She loves the water though, and actually jumps in the shower with me when I let her.

Here is what I am doing so far: From the time Roux was about 13 weeks I have been giving her a good going over with a zoom groom every few days; more with a mind toward getting her used to being handled than anything. As she's gotten older I follow up with a pin brush just to make her look neater. I also trim the hairs around her eyes. As her coat has changed, become more her adult coat I'm presuming, the zoom groom, which is rubber, removes quite a bit of loose hair each time. After reading about rolling the coat and reading the descriptions of layering and what it looks like, is it possible I have been rolling her coat without realizing it?
