pammyfay
When it's wet out, I dry Zoey off with a towel, then wrap her in another one and hold her and rub her gently. Gentle rubs do nothing for the ice balls, tho -- it snowed a bit here overnight, and she had a lot. Rubbed some off, breaking the ice. Then used a really low setting on a blow dryer (she did not like the sound of that, but it helped). The hair on her feet is probably longer than necessary. I can try to cut it back, but I also don't want her getting colder out there. What do you do to get rid of ice balls quickly and unstressfully for your pup? A quick web search turned up only rinsing the paws in a bowl of warm (not hot) water. I'll try that later today, when she's ready for her morning walk. But any suggestions warmly appreciated! Hillscreek
Keep the hair between the pads trimmed close. Put Mushers Secret on pads before going out to protect them. Any ice balls come off inside as paws warm up naturally. Angus works on them himself also. Licking them and pulling at them. He doesn't get too many on his pads so it's not much of a problem. Lynn in TN
I let Kelly get hers off herself. She doesn't get to many so its not a problem.
