Guest
My wonderful, energetic 6 year old female cairn, Skye, somehow ruptured her cruciate ligament (knee). I have been to two doctors and an orthopedic surgeon. They and research on the web report sometimes with smaller dogs under 25lbs, surgery is not necessary and there will be enough scarring to stabilze the knee to return to 80% normal activity. Anyone have any experience with this?? All say that surgery does not necessarilty "cure" the problem. Also minor arthritis in hip and ankle. She has never had any prior problems. I have started both my cairns on Glucousamine supplement Thanks!
Bonnie
Our other mixed breed 12 LB. 9 year old dog ruptured her cruciate ligament about two years ago, and had surgery. She is just fine now, and I would recommed to go ahead and have it done.
