How do I make a poll?

I tried making a poll.

 

1. I went to the Behavior & Health forum.

2. I clicked on "new post".

3. I clicked on "polls".

4. I filled out the poll title/question and all the answers/options to use to vote.

5. I clicked "finished".

 

It brought me back to the "new post" screen. I thought, "Well, maybe if I just click "post new topic", the poll will attach itself, but nada.

 

How do I get my completed poll to show up in the forum?

Polls are attached to topics, so there does need to be a topic with content.  What do you mean by 'nada'? -- when you clicked Post New Topic, what exactly happened? What did the message say?

 

If I create a poll, click Finished, then Post New Topic I get an error message:

 

"You must enter a topic title longer than 2 characters"

If I type a three-character title (being a wiseguy) then Post New Topic, I then get an error message:

"You must enter a post."

If I type "a post"  then Post New Topic, I get an idiotically titled, content-free new topic with poll at the top, as expected

 

I'll doublecheck permissions, but if the member permissions were not set correctly for your group, then you would not have have the poll option available on the post screen (or you would receive an explicit "you are not permitted" error).

I don't remember what message I got, but obviously (because I was just successful), I wasn't putting anything directly in the "post" box. My poll is up now. Thank you, Brad!
