No Emoticons on iPad

I'm reading from my iPad this morning and posted a reply, then noticed that there are no emoticons available to insert. I can see that the post option "Enable emoticons" is checked, but they don't show up anywhere on the screen. Not that I'm crying because I can't insert a birthday cake, but it just caught my attention and wondered if you had run across this before.

I hadn't noticed but researched and it's a known bug between IOS and the rich text editor. It's listed to be fixed on the next release, scheduled "this year." 

 

I tested a bit and it looks like you can enter emoticons manually, if you know the BBCode for the emoticon. Indeed that's how I mostly enter emoticons anyway as it's sometimes faster.

 

The BBCodes are displayed in the desktop browser popup, but here they are in list form:

So typing

:cake:

in your message will render :cake: on preview and when posted.
