hheldorfer
OK, probably a dumb question: I see "Subscriber" under the names of some members and not others. What does this mean? Am I missing something?
bradl
Before the move there were a few offers and suggestions about ways to possibly contribute to the cost of running the site. This is my attempt at providing a low-key method for those so inclined. "Subscribing" doesn't actually change your membership in any way other than to add a badge to your post info. There a couple of "subscription" options. Links to the options are randomly rotated at the bottom of forum topics as small ads (where the little glyphs usually show up) -- I didn't want them in folks' face all the time or jumping out from every corner of the forum. There is also a smallish link on the index page sidebar of the forum: I feel somewhat awkward about it overall. I can't emphasize enough how optional this all is. I love that anyone would even consider donating, but I absolutely, positively, mean for this to be a free resource, for as long as I can manage it. Every one of us is in a different place, and our circumstances can change over time, so I never want anyone to feel they have to do a thing other than enjoy the community. Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? hheldorfer
Thanks Brad. I figured there must be a place to subscribe but couldn't find it. So now I am an official subscriber.
