Dempsy's Mom
I have been looking for a hatchback car for about 6 months. It is time consuming and exhausting looking for what you want in a car. This weekend I decided that I am going to bite the bullet. I went to get a Mazda 3 hatch - 2013. Great mileage. But there is a body style change this year, which concerned me. So I ended up purchasing a CX 5 Mazda. Seat goes down nice for the dog kennel - less mileage, but I think a better value when it comes to trading it in or selling it. The 2014 Mazda 3 I didn't care for as much. So any how, I will be traveling to Nebraska next month and I am looking forward to more comfort for the dogs. Jim thinks I am nuts buying a car around the dogs. Quote Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
Hillscreek
Isn't that what our vehicles are for? So we can tote our buddies around safely and comfortably!
bradl
Amen. Jim thinks I am nuts buying a car around the dogs. Ha! All of our test drives include loading up crates, testing ex-pen fit, etc. I had a Mazda 3 hatch (2007) that I sold and got a Mini Clubman (2008). The Mazda was a great car and I reeeeally had to stretch to think up an excuse why I needed the Clubman instead The CX-5 is supposed to be an excellent vehicle. Enjoy! Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Ivy & Lucy's Mom
Nope your not crazy-we are building a new house and I made changes for a doggy door that goes off the smaller deck so the dogs don't have to go up steep steps to our higher deck. Its all about the fur babies and well, my kids too.
Liz in PA
Yup, I brought Hogan's crate to the dealership to make sure it would fit well when we bought a new car a few years ago. It goes in there too often to not have it be easy.
eastofeden
What you mean everyone does not buy their car based on their dogs!!!! josie&holly
When I bought my Hyundai i10 three yrs ago I took Holly with me on test drive to make sure she liked car! The salesman then found her a waterbowl when we came back as well as making me a cup of tea whilst we discussed price etc. he did say that he had never had to please a dog before!
