admin
Thanks to a recent spike of abuse by spammers, newly registered accounts (in the group "Registered-") can no longer post status updates. Posting status updates now counts as an account "upgrade." After posting a very few non-spam posts as community members, Registered- accounts automatically upgrade to "Registered" accounts, with full, normal permissions to post status updates, add links to signatures, etc. We really regret all the steps necessary to lock down forums from abuse by spammers, SEO weasels and others. It's a struggle to find reasonable measures that proactively prevent issues without somehow compromising the ability of genuine community members to enjoy what is meant to be a useful, friendly, spam-free environment. As always, we are grateful to our real community for your good-faith participation and patience.
