Idaho Cairns
The picture of Bonnie was taken in the summer of 2012 and she was whelped in 2007 so the coat you see is about five years old. Our Cairn pups usually start getting longer coats around a year and a half as I recall but, like most things with Cairns, that is kind of an individual thing--each are different. Expect some color change as well--Bonnie was a dark red brindle when we got her and lightened up quite a bit as she got older--as has Sammi. tlwtheq
Their hair would be dragging the ground if we did nothing. And that's a challenge. As Brad once pointed out, "No one lines up for being groomed". And boy, oh boy does my crew live up to that! Toby's mum
This was Toby when we got him coat down to the floor. Unfortunately we had to shave him right down and start again as he had not been groomed in over a year and he was so matted
