Issue with iPhone/iPad forum app

Anyone else have this issue? As you'll see, when I post this message, there will be a "(null)" at the bottom of the post, this happens for both the iPhone and iPad app.

Any ideas??

Hm the quick reply didn't do the null that time.

The "More Reply Options" didnt do the null either - now I am donig the quick reply using my bluetooth keyboard to see if that may be the problem. I have had issues with the bluetooth keyboard with other apps.

Nope that didn't do it either. Weird, seems it does it when it wants to.

Hmm, you mentioned app. Are you using an actual app installed on the device ("IPS Communities" via iTunes), or accessing the site through the device browser?

I guess to drill down: iOS version? Is phone jailbroken?

Also, would you be willing to try temporarily adding a signature (even as little as "...") to see if somehting is hiccupping on lack of signature? Link to do that is in your profile settings/signature.

Test posts can go in the Test Forum.

Hey Bradl,

I added a signature.

I am using the actual app not just a browser. The app is a bit buggy - the biggest issue I have with it is sometimes it doesn't letm e scroll int he forum list.

iOS version 5.1.1 on both. Neither my iPhone nor iPad are jail broken.

Hey Bradl,

It seems its app related. And I think I just noticed when I use the apps posting window I get the (null) which is required to be used on new forum topic posts and I just did it in a reply to a test post of mine and also got the null but with quick replys which are direclty on the forum window I don't get them.

When I click the "Reply to this topic" button at the top of the topic window, the app pops up a window like a form type thing on a web page and then there is a post button and attachment button. This window is causing the nulls. (Typed this message in it)

Excellent detective work, sir.

This app? http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ips-communities/id521920635?mt=8

The app appears to require a newer version of IPB than we are running.

I guess I'd recommend using the mobile skin until the forum is upgraded again (probably this summer). So far I've found the mobile skin surprisingly capable.
