I am a newbie!

I am new to this website and just wanted to say hello. I do not have Cairns, however I am joining this website because I have terriers.

I have read quite a few threads in this section today. I, too, have been having some "terrier-related" problems with Charley (my Silky Terrier!). He is so darned aggressive and has been lunging, snarling, growling, & snapping! BRAT!!!

So, bottom line, it was comforting to come here & read that others had similar problems with their dogs. I'm convinced it is a "terrier" thing. I do know the steps needed to correct this behavior... it isn't the first time I've been through this with "Naughty Charley!" I do get advice from the trainer/behaviorist, too.

He is a LOT of work... and as someone said, working with a head-strong, aggressive terrier NEVER ENDS!!!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Ooohh....I'd love to see a pic of the terrier/beagle mix. She must be a sweetie!

Welcome to our Terrier family! We don't discriminate. (Looking at Brad - we don't, do we? :D:D:D:D:D:D )

Welcome, Teresa!!

Charley really does look FULL of the dickens...LOL!!!

I know that look very well as my male Cairn has that exact same expression, "hmmmmm, what can I get into now??"

P.S. Your doggies are adorable :D !

Hi and welcome...

Yes, Charlie does have that "Cairn" expression that we forum members know so well that says, " I do as I please until I get caught!".

Then they'll have the most adorable/sad faces that makes it hard for us to discipline :halo:

Your dogs are beautiful...thanks for the pics.

Welcome to our great forum! I have 3 full blooded cairns, yet one of mine looks more like an Australian Terrier. Your Charlie looks closer to a cairn than my Abbey. Click on my name and you can view my website from my profile. Emme is adorable, as is Bruno. I could give them both a hug.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone and everydoggie! LOL

I saw your photo, toomanypaws, and your dogs are so sweet! And you are right about Charley looking like a Cairn... when we go to "dog" events people often guess him to be either a Cairn or a Westie. I guess Silky's are kind of rare around Missouri.
