Guest posting as: Scully'sMom
Since late Saturday night, Scully's had several pee accidents in the house which never happens. One was Saturday night, two were yesterday, and this morning, she peed twice in the kitchen when no one was around. Actually they all were when she didn't tell us she had to go, and the one yesterday afternoon she came running up to me like she hadn't seen me in a long time and I petted her and then she just squated down at my foot and began to pee on the rug. I put her right out and she peed a good bit outside. Also, her blanket was wet in her crate this morning which NEVER happens. I noticed she's been drinking a lot of water all day yesterday and first thing this morning. I gave her some new chew bones from Purina that I got Saturday and I'm wondering - do you think the chew bones are salty or something which might be causing her to drink so much? It just came out of nowhere very late Sat. night and she doesn't appear to be in any pain when she pees or anything. Geez, it's always something! fancypants
I would get her to the vet - it *could* be serious and I'd also stay away from Purina!!! Since my cat and dog have been so sick I've been doing some research on pet food and feeding raw and see improvement already! Yea!
kayharley
I agree...it could be something as minor as a bladder infection but your vet should be consulted ASAP. Try and get a urine specimen to bring which will help with the diagnosis. Please keep us posted.
toomanypaws
Definitely have her looked at by a vet. I can't leave the water down all the time for my 2 younger ones, especially Abbey, the 10 1/2 mth old. If she drinks too much, she STILL will have an accident in the kitchen. Little Hannah is almost 5 mths and she'll let me know she has to go, but not Abbey. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
MikeC
Scully's Mom, I completely agree with Fancypants and Kay. A visit to the Vet is definitely in order here. My guess is that it is the Purina. I fed my last Springer Purina for a short time too try and save some money, and noticed that her intake of water increased greatly. After that, she went right back on Eukanuba and her water intake lessened. MikeC
CarCarDawn
Hi! I would definitely take Scully to the vet - - could just be a minor allergic reaction to the food or something a little more serious.
Scully'sMom
We haven't had any accidents today, which is good, and she has lessened the amount of water she has to drink. I was out there with an ashtray catching her pee (which I spilled half of it on my hand) for a specimen. Thanks for the posts!
