Does anyone have any information on Cairns and their susceptibility to glaucoma as they age?

Does anyone know of any Cairns that have had to undergo eye removal surgery? I know many dogs go on to lead happy lives even though they are suddenly blind -- but I would love to hear any real life stories anyone knows of, if possible.

:? We just lost our carin due to old age (16 years this month) and he has had CAtaracts for ab out the last 4 to 5 years. It started with one eye and then hit the other eye over the last 2 years. He was still able to get around really well even though we have a very big fenced in back yard.

The become adjusted to the loss of sight.
