  • I have always made it a rule that the puppy has a box of his own — Sanctuary in a Deer Forest — where no one can touch him or punish him by word or hand. When in trouble he makes for it and you always know where to get him. He keeps his bones and toys there, a pair of the master's old slippers, a ball, all valuable to him, and he quickly knows this.
