Tobby's Mom
I'm getting a new dog and in the pictures it looks like he's been clippered instead of stripped. What should I do to get his coat looking right?
Shazza
You can do a search here on the forums for "stripping" and you will find a LOT of answers I can suggest investing in a grooming table, it's a life saver when I groom our 2. Good luck! Miya Max
Tobby's Mom
I've stripped Zoey before and it went fairly well. If the new dogs coat is in bad shape how long before I can strip and get it looking good? By the looks of the pictures clippers have been used and it's all one length. The owner said she's "trimmed" him herself the last 3 or 4 times.
Shazza
I would wait until the dog has settled in before attempting any grooming. You don't want to overwhelm the lil bugger. You can start whenever you want to get his coat into better shape, maybe start out slow by plucking a few hairs here and there when he's on your lap or laying next to you. Depending on how previous owner "trimmed" it may take time to grow out before you can start grooming. Miya Max
