Tobby's Mom
About a month or two after we brought Zoey home I started feeling the itch to get another one. I fought it off as long as I could but just happend upon a post on Craigslist for a Cairn Terrier that needed to be rehomed due to it's owner's moving. I tried to resist the urge to email them but just couldn't. So now, I'm getting another Cairn next week. I'm really excited and know that Zoey will be too since she loves other dogs. The dog I'm getting is male, 3 years old, already neutered, housebroken, and adorable. Here's the picture the owner sent.
Sandi16
Oh so cute!! I almost emailed a listing on CL as well for a Cairn. An elderly couple no longer able to afford him. I had the email all ready but didn't send it. I am so torn. I don't want to short either dog because of finances you know, we're still a young family. I told myself if after our Disney trip, if another opportunity presents itself, I'll take it. Congratulations on your new family member!!

Tobby's Mom
I know. I couldn't imagine giving mine up. The lady said it was a really hard decision for them to give him up and that their two kids who are 3 and 5 are having a really hard time with them having to give him away. I told her that if it would make them any easier on them that I would email them pictures of him and Zoey to let them know how he's doing. I even emailed some pictures of Zoey so her kids could see their dogs new "girlfriend". I'm gonna take Zoey with me to pick the dog up so that they can all meet her in person since she's great with kids and loves meeting new people. Oh yeah, the dog's name is Toto Jones. Cairnmania
Wow, that's really great. Good to know your new family member has obviously been spoiled and I bet he will fit in real easily in his new home. Sad that his current family needs to give him up, but I bet they are happy they found a good home with a Cairn friend in situ!
sheila and Misty
yep hes hard to resist! did the owners say why ? they were giving him uo? too rough for the kids? possesive? not sociable? fears? any health issues?consider all these factors will he get along with another dog? if youve covered that with them I wish you a great time with your new addition! josie&holly
your new addition looks a real handsome chap - hope Zoey and he hit it off when they meet! all the best for the two of them! I'm afraid that one Cairn is enough for me.................. though if I had a bigger purse/home/car/garden I would be tempted! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
Tobby's Mom
She said the only reason they're giving him away is because they're gonna start building a new house and didn't want him stressed out a lot over moving around between places while the building is going on. She said they've got two kids 3 and 5 that he loves to play with. She said he will even let them waller him and he won't growl or bite or anything. He's up to date on all shots and healthy (I'm gonna take him to my vet just to be sure as soon as I get him), due for shots in August. The only negative thing about him is that when he gets excited he'll sprinkle a little bit, but I went through that with Zoey so it's nothing new to me. He's crated during the day while the family is gone and will sleep on his bed or on the couch at night. She said he's never had a problem with other dogs in the neighborhood and isn't posessive or agressive with them. He sounds like a great dog to me, but may have a few little quirks the owner forgot to mention. I believe I can handle whatever they may be though seeing as how Zoey hasn't always been the most well behaved little dog and has given me a fair share of problems. Nena
I am so glad you are taking Toto Jones to a new home, can't believe they are getting rid of him just because they are building and don't want him upset over moves. Sounds like a lame excuse to me but I would do anything for mine so I guess some people still think of dogs as just dogs. I am sure he will have a much better home with you. When I am ready for a new one I think I will check out Craigs list to see what dog we can rescue. Best wishes for a peacefully blending with your Zoey. cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives

Tobby's Mom
We just picked up Toto and him and Zoey are already pals. After the initial sniffing they started playing like two puppies. I can't wait to get home and take some pictures of them to post. His former owners seemed really nice. I thought I was bad about buying stuff for Zoey but they gave us bags upon bags of Toto's things.
