Yeah they do that alot!-I think they feel they can get the squirrel rabbit or deer faster if they stay near the edge. its only 8 in. from the ground-no biggie should they roll off.

could have but we have a WARNING GUARD DOGS! sign on each side of our house facing the front-to keep people like-lawn care or neighbor kids from leaving the gate open or cutting through
