What a great way to spend the day, did they want to swim or just run around barking at everything?

What they mostly wanted to do was have a giant smell-a-thon. We walked 1.5 miles

down the beach and back again. Every place they had been had to be revisited on

the return trip. Ohhhh, and for those of you who don't know, Assateague Island is

home to a large herd of wild ponies, leftover from crashed Spanish galleons several

hundred years ago.

Here are some of them. You can bet when we stopped for these pics there was a major bark fest!

Ah! So cute!

Assateague's such a fun dog place. I grew up down the road in Salisbury, where my parents still live, so we have a lot of "dog at the beach" pics but none of ours contain the new Cairn - yet!
