uncontrollable bounce when sleeping

Spencer is 8. Every one and again, his whole rear area will bounce up when he is sleeping. Has anyone else experienced this? It is not like a dream thing.

might be muscle tension release once he gets into a more relaxed state.

maybe it is like that jerking that people do when they are falling asleep? your near-unconscious mind feels you are getting off balance, and tries to jerk you back into balance. maybe spencer is actually dozing when you see this, or has been slightly awake and is falling asleep again?

Maybe he is dreaming? Scooter dreams and shakes and sometimes "runs" runs in his sleep.

oh yeah! i think jessica must have it. when my dog is dream-running his rump bounces up and down. i didn't recognize it from the description but that must be it.
