hi i'm lizzie, & i'm new to the forum & new to raising a puppy. How i got my lil guy is a bit of a strange story actually.

I found spaz about 2 months ago. he's a rescue pup pf sorts.. i found him in the middle of the road on my way home from a friends house at nearly one am, after nearly hitting him with my car - he wasn't moving & i honestly thought it was a paper bag in the street- luckily i was able to stop in time. poor little guy was freezing cold & shaking & shivering so badly, so i took him home to my house of 5 cats (lol i swear their his favorite toys) the next day i took a photo of him with my digital camera & printed up tons of "Found" posters & plastered them all over the neighborhood where i found him, no one calmed him. so my mom & i set about trying to find him a home, with 5 older cats in the house my mom was a bit worried about bringing a dog into the family, then i had to go out of state for the weekend for a convention & i returned to find him curled up sleeping in my dads lap in a hand knit dog sweater & knew he was here to stay.

he's already grown by leeps & bounds in the short amount of time i've had him. We only recently realized he was a Carin Terrier. i just wish i knew exactly how old he was... he had bairly any of his teeth poking through his gums when i first found him, & now he's starting to loose his baby teeth

welcome you two! wow How lucky was he to have the right person save his furry little life-and how cruel that was to abandon him-I doubt a puppy that young would wander that far. horrible people! so glad hes a keeper-hes surely a lucky little dude ..That has to be the least expensive way to recue a cairn yet! p.s I was concidering that name spaz for my first cairn!

OMG what a great story!! He is SOOO cute!! I would say about 4 or 5 months old too. I got my Louie around that same time, and his teeth were still growing in.

I love that you came back and he was asleep on your dads lap with a sweater on!! Too cute!!

Wow congratulations! Spaz is so cute! Your vet might be able to give a pretty good idea of his age too. Keep us posted on how your doing!

thanks so much everyone for the warm welcome! things have been relatively calm-ish with spaz... aside from the eating of kitty poo (Yuck!) & still having some issues with paper training. everyone absolutely love him.. well except one of my cats but then again scamper's scared of everything
