Cabin Fever

Since Monday the temperature here has been below zero, never going above it once...combined with windchill it's -30 to -40 below zero. Last night it was -26 below zero....the dogs haven't been out much, just to do their business, then they come right back in---all week, no exercise time outside makes for a rough week cooped up in the house!!!!

I have been seeing it on the news. I cannot even imagine what that's like! Lived in AZ all my life and shiver and whine like at baby when it gets below 65! Wish I could send you some of our warm weather to help out you and the pups!

Sophie has terrible cabin fever! Add that to her teenage "I don't wanna -- make me!" attitude, well, it has been a challenge to get her worn out enough to behave! Right now she is working on a nylabone I stuck into her Kong, but that will last for only a while. We built a tunnel for her to explore...that was good for about ten minutes, and now it is a "ho-hum". Maybe we'll do another "cracker dog" where she runs full speed ahead up over down and around the living room...

The cold here is bad as well. Thursday & Friday all schools were closed. Wind chill factor 30-40 below. Kramer for the first time this morning, went out to do his business, his little paws just froze up I carried him in. This was only for a few seconds, thats how cold it was. Since its too cold outside to walk I have a full basement and I take his few toys down, well his favorite ball and we play fetch. He runs the length of the basement back and fourth getting his ball. He gets a good work out and so do I. When we are finished he is pooped. So it helps getting some energy burned and helps him burn calories as well. My neighbor called me and came over becasue she said when she is in all day she eats and eats. I told her get a dog

Rhonda,Kramer & Angel Missy "Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog". "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are" Missy Rainbow Bridge Memorial

Cold here too. I posted an add on craigslist for puppy play dates in my area and got 4 responses. I invited one over and we had a great time...so did our pups!
