pkcrossley
saw this in the guardian today, they have a slide show of dog portraits. this guy is called "frisker. it's a cairn, isn't it? have you ever considered letting your boy's beard grow out like this? kind of unusual. bradl
I agree that he's a Cairn. Between the round-looking and somewhat light eye, plus the mustache/beard the poor fellow's lost our keen expression. The eyes might be related to the photograph itself, though. I'd like to reach into my screen with some shears and take that mustache off. I bet he'd be handsome without it. CAIRNTALK: Questions? pkcrossley
i like his eyes, i think a lot of cairns have that sort thoughtful look in maturity. my dog's eyes are that color in direct light, it was always a bit disturbing when he was a puppy, as it gave him a kind of wolfish appearance. but i think frisker must have been rather worn out by the photo session, he does look a bit blunted. SparkyJonesMom
That mustache makes him look like a grumpy old man. He doesn't have the Cairn spirit. Sparky Jones & Scout Jones
boats85
Makes him look distinguished, buy agree that he would look younger without it.
bradl
Wait! What's wrong with being a grumpy old man? CAIRNTALK: Questions? Need help? → Support Forum Please do not use PMs for tech support CRCTC: Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club

Shazza
lol bradl I don't care for the long beard on frisker. I'll leave my answer at that Miya Max
beanena36
I did let his beard grow before he turned one and I quickly cut it off. He looked too much like a Yorkie and I have a Cairn not a Yorkie. It wasn't for us.

bradl
Confirmed as a Cairn Terrier, from the photographer's site: Recently comedians Deb McGrath and Colin Mochrie commissioned Hatt to create portraits of their Cairn terriers, Fanny and Frisker.-- http://www.sharihatt.com/news.php Frisker appears in the gallery, under Pets. bradl
Coat was probably clipped. Good job keeping the ear tips neat though - props for that. If the hair were shorter on the head, it would stand up and bush out a bit and the ears would poke out charmingly. Same Fu Manchu mustache. I'm sure they are both adored members of the family though, so cheers to them. Somehow appropriate that comedians would own Cairns, eh? Birds of a feather CAIRNTALK: Questions?
