Posted October 14, 200816 yr This past Friday, Archie got a new sister! We adopted her from a really really really good rescue organization that specializes in placing Cairns. We have named our new girl Lucy. She is a little angel. She makes my heart melt everytime she kisses my nose. She has some issues with hairloss on her left thigh but is and has been under vet care for the last month and a half. She is very well behaved and gets excited when we come home. She is a little scared of my husband, as she came from a mill, run by a man that didn't treat her well. When we introduced her to Archie (on neutral grounds of course) she snapped at him at first but then followed him like she had known him for years. She is about half his size as I have learned Archie is an AMAZON. My poor little boy is actually a big boy. I was told she is slightly larger than most Cairns and Archie is about 2-3 inches taller than her, his head is larger, and of course he is a poly. He has been a perfect gentlemen with his new sister. Very patient, sharing, I think he even protects her a little. He has really proven to me that he is a good dog. Sure he has his moments but that is part of the breed. It amazes me how well he gets along with other dogs. He is so easygoing. Well, enough boasting about my babies. We all need to get to bed. Here they are.
October 14, 200816 yr AWwwww what a good brother Archie is to his new sister. She is adorable as well as Archie is handsome. What did they say the hair loss is? Most likely from poor living conditions and food? Give both a big hug from Kramer and I and enjoy the both. Rhonda,Kramer & Angel Missy "Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog". "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are" Missy Rainbow Bridge Memorial/>http://www.indulgedfurries.com/petdiabetes/memorium/missy2.htm

October 14, 200816 yr Lucy is a sweet looking little lady. I know you should never ask a lady her age, but maybe she won't mind, how old is she? I know she & Archie are going to have a great time together. Bless you for taking Lucy into your home, she will thank you every day. Jim, Connie, Bailey & Sophie

October 15, 200816 yr Author Our little lady Lucy is 5 years old. (She acts like 2 or 3, she is full of vigor.) She has had several tests on her fur so far and her foster mom's vet couldn't come to a conclusion. Our vet thinks its a hormonal thing and would like to give her a few months since she was spayed about a month and a half ago. He doesn't want to go crazy testing her. He also mentioned that some dogs have patterned baldness just like humans. It may be genetic for her. Nothing a super cute sweater can't help to disguise. She is such a little sweetie. Archie is only about 18 months old and he really wants her to play. She takes her paw and kind of pets him. He then thinks that she is going to give him a belly rub and instantly he rolls on his back with all four paws in the air. She looks at him like he is crazy. It's so funny. It took us a while to get her to our home. We had two hurricane interuptions and finally got back to semi-normal around here. I don't know if I can name the rescue organization, but she is from a certain rescue group named after a Cairn that crossed the Rainbow bridge who was named after a character on MASH. Lucy was a mill mama and was rescued by the organization. She has a new life ahead of her. I'm thankful we have her now and she will be safe for the rest of her life. Thanks all for your compliments. Poor thing has no idea that she is going to be posed for a Cairn X-mas card for the card exchange. It will be her first Christmas a free girl...with a stocking full of dog goodies to boot!
