Posted September 24, 200816 yr Who woulda known, Skipper, Canine Good Citizen. It was kinda bittersweet though. Skip did well on all his points, however the evaluater was going to fail him because of his recall. On recall test Skip would come to me but veer off just to the left of me and I hooked him over, so evaluater failed him on that point saying he's a terrier and having a terrier moment. Well that statement just put me over the top, and I argued the point saying Skipp was returning to the left because that is where I heel with him, the side where I have him sit/stay etc. and this as stated is not an obedience trail. Another evaluater was on hand and Skipp did another recall, This time getting closer to the mark but on left side so I swung him around and put him in heel position. The new evaluater stated well done and passed Skipper on all ten points and I stated that's because HE IS A CARIN TERRIER and I love this little guy. Me and Skipper swaggered out with our pass certificate. Boats and Skipper CGC

September 24, 200816 yr CAIRNGRATULATIONS, SKIPPER!!!, and you too Boats!!. That is an accomplishment I am really envious of. I'm not sure our 2 rascals, or myself, have the patience to pass that test. It is something for both of you to be very proud of!! Jim, Connie, Bailey & Sophie
September 25, 200816 yr Author Along with Skipps CGC, he graduated today from advanced obedience training (second time around). Rally training next spring and try again with earthdog in November.Trying to keep Skipper gainfully employed and have fun too. most of the time it's just fun. walks, going to the dog park, A vet visit just to say hi, or just hanging out in back yard barking at squirels(not me, Skipper doing all the barking) or playing fetch skippy style.
