Posted July 3, 200817 yr It's winter here in Oz and its been a bit chilly. Normally neither of my girls will sit on my (or anyone's) lap, they will sit next/near to us but want their own space. But... with the cooler weather comes cuddles. Roxy hates the cold and likes nothing better than sitting on a nice warm lap. She will come over to me while I'm working at the computer and put her front legs up on me so I will pick her up. I love it!! It probably a good thing we only have mild winters here or I'd have to get a litter box for her cos she will not go outside if its wet or raining (even very light rain) so I can't imagine what she would be like if it snowed. Susie on the other hand isn't too bothered by the cold or rain.

July 3, 200817 yr It is raining here in PA, but I would love my cairn to ask to be picked up. She is also independent, and only want to curl up if it is cold. Ofcourse, it is too hot to curl up next to me, she can be like a furnance. Great to talk to someone from Australia. cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives
July 3, 200817 yr It's raining here too! LOL I'd have to get a litter box for her cos she will not go outside if its wet or raining (even very light rain) so I can't imagine what she would be like if it snowed. Oscar is absolutely the same! When it rains it takes him an eternity to go potty out there. He ends up finding a spot underneath 'shelter' where it's nice and dry. <3Oscar
July 3, 200817 yr Scooter HATES going out in the rain, he goes on pee strike and will not pee for HOURS AND HOURS, I have to carry him out and stand there until I SEE him go (sometimes he lifts the leg for a split second trying to trick me so he can go in faster, SO SMART). We live in NH so he has to deal with a winter of ALOT of snow, we got a record breaking 10.5 feet this winter. THey do not get any more cuddly in the winter because they are so used to it. Sadie thinks the snow is great, she is like a little snow plow and gets more energy when she is out in it. Its really funny. Sadie hates being out in the summer but loves going out in the winter, Scooter is the exact opposite. Jess, Scooter, Sadie and Dozer
July 5, 200817 yr I live in the San Francisco bay area, it's always a bit chilly here in the evening. My dog and cat love to sleep with us and keep us warm, I tell DH we have our own envirnmentally friends heating pads.
