Posted May 5, 200817 yr Sunday was a lovely day here in Southern Ohio. I spent a good part of the day repairing the screen in the door that Mett & Bratt had destroyed at the end of last summer. I put up a screen guard to keep it from happening again...which curiously took longer to attach the 4 screws than it did to re-screen.... funny how that works. Bratt decided that he needed to help me during the project by taking my tools and running off with them....Took me 10 mins to get a screw driver back! Taking the hint I took them for a neighboorhood walk..... Yesterday we had more kids in the neighboorhood than live there! A pair of enterprising girls setup a snow cone stand and were selling them to the influx of visiting children.... This is where my tail takes a turn. Mett & Bratt take a sudden interest in rolling in our front lawn.... I'm sitting in the front of the hosue, they are on 20' flexi leads... I figure they are rolling in the fresh grass and sunning, so i'm not alarmed at the roll-fest going on.... that is until I realized that my dogs have turned bright Smurf Blue! Yes some of those nice visting children dumped snowcones in my front yard so that my precious Cairn Terrorist could roll on them. In case anyone was interested, yes you can dye your dog with snowcone syrup... I didn't have time to take photos, as I rushed them both into the bathroom so our nice white carpet didn't look like a Smurf murder scene. After soaping them both up twice, they still have a Blue tint...a bit like 'little old lady blue hair'. Ahh I love the summer. I guess I should be thankful that it wasn't red they rolled in, I could have pink tinted dogs instead of blue! My momma said thanks, let's go for a walk, That woman's a gem, but man she can talk We covered some ground until I got me a jones I'm too cool to be hot so I rolled on snow cones I should have gone back to bed and just snoozed 'Cause now I got me those Mett and Bratt Blues... I marked me some bushes and I flung me some turf, But momma mocked me and bathed me and called me a Smurf Callin' this terrier boy an old lady? I think not! It won't look good to my pals on Cairn Talk. I should have gone back to bed and just snoozed 'Cause now I got me those Mett and Bratt Blues... CAIRNTALK: Questions? May 6, 200817 yr Very clever wrighting Brad. I would have given anything to see those "smurf" dogs. Tooooo funny.
May 6, 200817 yr I can only hope that some day I'll see this song in a short video on You Tube.... Great!
May 7, 200817 yr Mett & Bratt, dudes! I would so LOVE to roll in blue snow cones! You are way too cool (snigger!) for your own good. And Brad, my Dad usually only comes up with stuff like that when we drink beer. Did you just have a beer? I like beer but I usually don't get any... Your Friend, Packy Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
May 7, 200817 yr Packy, a beer might have helped my meter. But at 7:32 AM I'm afraid I was running on oatmeal and not enough coffee. CAIRNTALK: Questions? Need help? → Support Forum Please do not use PMs for tech supportCRCTC: Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club
May 7, 200817 yr Author LOL Everyone is making me laugh way too hard! Brad, writting must figure somewhere into your career path! Way too clever for 7am in the morning! I tried to take a picture of Mett last night, but you really could not see the Blue with artifical light, it just looked grey. I'll see if I can get him outside the next time the sun comes out (we're scheudled for a few days of rain here). You really can't see it on Bratt unless you look at his undercoat, he really has gotten darker. Tracy, Amos, Walter, Brattwrust & Mettwurst a.k.a The Gremlins
May 7, 200817 yr I'm very tempted to take those lyrics to my recording studio in the basement. My DH and I could probably cook something up. Max and Nelly
May 7, 200817 yr Definitely a tune for You Tube, Blue Cairns and all! ROTFLMAO! Karen and Angus MacDoggal the Braveheart
May 7, 200817 yr Whoa, who knew we had such talent? Carpenter Cairns & the Bluesy Brad....sounds like a music video is definitely called for here! If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito
May 8, 200817 yr TOOOO Funny!!! LOL Especially reading your story after just seeing a little old blue-haired lady at the store a few days ago. If you want the best seat in the house, move the dog.
May 10, 200817 yr Oh that story is just too darn funny! too bad you didn't get photos! And Brad, as always so creative and VERY funny!!!! Kate, Darcy & Bailey's mom
May 10, 200817 yr Author Update Yesterday I saw the girls who had the Snow Cone sale last weekend, I asked what brand of syrup they had used. Turns out that they didn't have any so they made it using coolaid, Jello packages and blue paste food coloring. No wonder why it stained them! and no wonder why eveyone who bought one dumped them! They must have tasted nasty. I made a call to Gail my groomer and she told me that you can get out the coloring if you use Hydrogen Peroxide and baking soda, like you use for skunking. I will be trying this out later today. Of couse before I'll try to take some more photos before I trying removing the tint!
