Posted April 13, 200817 yr Here is Flash, I have him for a little while so I can work with some of his problems. So far he is VERY food aggressive, to the point he goes into a frenzy trying to bite me but after food is gone he is a big love bug. He's a good boy and has lots of potential. I just need to figure out this food problem... Jess, Scooter, Sadie and Dozer
April 13, 200817 yr Flash is absolutely a cutie-pie. I hope that you can make sense out of what the problem is.
April 14, 200817 yr What a cutie! He's got great coloring. I'm sure you'll get on top of the food issue. Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
April 14, 200817 yr Oh my is Flash beautiful!!! His coloring is beautiful too. How could a face like that be so aggressive to food! I heard that when puppys are food aggressive it could be from when he was a baby his other sisters or brothers would steal his food so he may have had to fight for it. But it is just what I heard, nothing in stone. I hope you can get it worked out because Flash is a keeper in my eyes. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are" Missy Rainbow Bridge Memorial/>http://www.indulgedfurries.com/petdiabetes/memorium/missy2.htm
April 14, 200817 yr 1st picture: Butt In The Air!!!!! He is so cute. I think I would take him in a heartbeat! I bet he calms down on the food with a little love and security that I'm sure he is getting.
April 14, 200817 yr He is precious! My Bogart's dad's name is Flash too...and he was a sweety! Good luck working on his issues...at least he is young enough he can be helped!
April 14, 200817 yr he is sooo adorable.... good luck with figuring him out, I hope everything works out for the best
April 14, 200817 yr What a cutie, have you tried hand feeding him everything bit by bit. I've heard it can work in some cases as they get used to the fact that all good things come from you and they have to take it from you and wait for the next piece. Good luck
April 14, 200817 yr Flash is a cute little guy, how old is he? How is he fitting in with your dogs? Sounds like he is behaving just like Sophie. She sits and waits nicely for her food, but once she has it she will get right over the bowl and growl fiercely if you come near it. I have hand fed her, and sat on the floor holding her bowl, with my fingers inside it, while she eats. She is fine during all this, eating around my fingers even if I move them around while she is eating. But if I just put the bowl down for her, once I let her start eatling she becomes very, very possessive & aggressive about it. Please let us know how you progress with Flash, maybe your experiences can help us too. Good luck! I just noticed you answered my first questions in your post yesterday!! April 14, 200817 yr Looks like you have a great little guy on your hands. Let the training begin Show those last owners what a cuddle bug he can be.
April 14, 200817 yr Great, I can see these pics at home. (My employer blocks anything coming from PhotoBucket, MySpace, YouTube, etc.) What a beautiful child...I know you must be having a blast! Thanks again for the pics. Max and Nelly
April 14, 200817 yr What a cutie! I was just watching an episode the other night about a blind dog having major food agression. This poor dog would foam at the mouth and chase it's own tail while growling and going into a frenzy over his food. The solution for him was to realize all dogs use their scents more so than their eyesight, even at birth. So it was a matter of feeding him out of the bowl while holding it, then taking it away (straight up from the dog, not out and up) rinse, repeat. Although every dog is different and we know Cairns have minds of their own, I wish you success his food agression. Miya Max
