Posted March 3, 200817 yr If anyone is interested, on March 8 Food Network is running a special called Rachel Ray Feeds Your Pet. It is on at 9pm eastern. I would be interested in the opinions of the people here as I make my kid's food (have since last May).

March 4, 200817 yr Well I am EXTREMELY excited! My TV is never off the food network and I love Rachel Ray, I will definitely be watching and recording that, it is about time they had a show like that! Thanks for the info! Jess, Scooter, Sadie and Dozer
March 9, 200817 yr The show was good, a few good recipes. I will say one thing, I did not learn alot about dog nutrition from the show but I did learn alot about cat nutrition. I am so upset with myself because I spend so much time picking out what my dogs are going to eat that I disregard the cats. I bought Nutro dry food and took them off wet food 5 years ago. WHAT AN IDIOT I AM!!!!!! They can't survive healthy on dry food, they need wet food. They should have no grains and lots of meat. The first 5 ingredients on the food they eat are chicken, rice, wheat crap and more crap. No wonder they are over weight! I know better than that!!!! Cats should have no vegetables or grains since they can not digest it. Oh after the show I spent 2 hours researching cat food. The food I have now is going in the woods, I am buying a case of really good wet food and really good dry food. I am glad I watched that show, for my cats. May even start buying Nature's Variety and giving them a raw diet as well. 75% canned, 15% raw and 5% dry (instead of 100%). Never again will I disregard my cats, think i may go find a cat forum as well... I just needed to vent because I feel like the worst kitty mommy in the world. Jess, Scooter, Sadie and Dozer
March 9, 200817 yr I watched the show as well, and I decided that Rachel Ray's dog eats better than I do! I agree, not quite as much about dog nutritioin as I thought there would be but it was a good show. Her dog is beautiful, is very spoiled and the doggy daycare she goes to is CRAZY! I wish I could take my dogs to a sweet place like that daily, and on Fridays have "spa day" And all along I thought my dogs really had it made! I told them to look for the name "Rachel Ray" for their next life!
March 12, 200817 yr if its anything like rachel rays other food taste, your dog probaly would throw up too....(lets just say im not fond of her. at all....)

March 12, 200817 yr So Dog should be eating wet food. i always thought dry was better? Anyone have any suggestions what type is good. I have three dogs right now. Tommorrow im adding a new family member .pammy No dry food is what dogs should mainly have. Sorry if I confused you, that was for my cats. I was just saying that I didn't learn a whole lot about dogs but I did learn alot about cats. CATS should have mostly a wet food diet. My dogs get all dry food with a little wet mixed in at night.
