Cricket keeps up with the big dogs on the beach

We spent the Holiday at my brother's home on Long Island. We took the "crew" down to the Sound Tuesday afternoon and we were lucky enough to have had the beach to ourselves!

Lucy(our yellow 4 1/2 year old Lab) Cricket(our 1 year old Cairn) and my brother's dog McGuire (9 year old GR) and Murphy (4 1/2 month old Black Lab pup)

Cricket has no fear and loves to prove her bravery and strength and stamina! She is the coolest dog! B)

Here are some pics.

Yo go Cricket!!! Look at that little lady run her fanny off. What terrific pictures and boy she must have slept like a log that night after all that exercise.

Mollyrocker,

If your black one was taller, I would swear you took a picture of my four. And if it was my four the Cairn would be nipping the Lab's butt.

I can't think of a better way to have fun! Those pictures are excellent! I especially love the first one. Cricket looks like she surfing over the wave. The one of all four should be blown up for a picture or repainted by you.

yikes! yep, no doubt about that, the lab's leg is in the mouth. well, it evens the competition a bit if the other side only has three legs.

Great shots! It's about 95 and humid here in Minnesota, and the idea of a race in water along a beach is so appealing. I'm not sure who likes this weather the least: me or the dogs. None of us are going for very long walks, though.

Alloie and T-Bone are spending most of their time spread out over the tile floor.

That picture makes me wish I were on the beach too! Awesome pictures!

DH took Scout on his jet ski last weekend! I'm glad I wasn't there....I would have been frantic!

my brother lives in Mattituck and as part of their association they have private access to the beach(fenced in parklike area with stairs going down to the beach)

I am pretty sure there are leash laws but since there wasn't a soul in site we let them run and swim off leash.

We went back on the 4th and there were too many people and dogs enjoying the beach so we cut our stay to a brief swim and walk on the beach leashed.

The hind leg nipping reminded me of the other Cairn that has been coming to our dog park in recent weeks! She was doing that with Barney. But she found a doggy friend who happened to be an intact male, and his "maleness" was her next target!!! We were all cringing and laughing at the same time! We thought maybe it resembled her squeaky toy at home!! :w00t:

All creatures great and small, the Lord God, He made them all!
