cairnsby3
I just have to brag, my puppy Shiner got his first two legs in Rally Obedience Novice this weekend, his first time out. He had a 98 and a 97, and I was very proud of him as he just celebrated his first birthday March 20. The older kids did well with Spring earning 2 more RAE legs and Spike finally finished Rally Excellent. kjwarnold
Hurray, Shiner! I thought you looked pretty smart when I met you at Purina Farms. Mom says we're going to be in Springfield on Wednesday, but only for a few hours. Maybe I'll see you again at another event this summer! PeppersMom
Congrats! Great scores! Rally is a great bridge builder for regular obedience. Much less scary for the dog. It has been a lifesaver for us. It got us into a routine at shows. Plus its nice to actually qualify. We have actually NQ'd twice in Rally too I'm embarrassed to say..once in Advance and once in Excellent! cairnsby3
Spike has NQd in Rally for barking at me (I talk, he barks back). The bad thing is I changed collars, put his old regular obedience one back on him, he quit barking, but now he hates it, he lags and doesn't have any fun with it anymore. Just for curiousity I may try him again with his nylon collar and see if he gets happier and barks again. I don't plan to go any farther than RE with him anyway.
