Cairns at Turner?

I wasn't able to attend the Turner trials last weekend and wondered how the Cairns fared.

Saturday my pup was laid low by a completely detatched hind leg  ---okay, it was a torn nail; just enough make a very grumpy three legged dog for a day! :crybaby:. Turns out my big bad rat menacer is a real drama queen! Sunday we had a judge conflict so we had no intention of attending that one anyway.

So, how about it, did the Cairns make a good showing?

I believe Brad was the only one there with cairns entered. (I was there, but too busy working to enter).

I think Stella got an ME leg on Saturday, but she didn't want to indicate on Sunday.

Haggis came out of 'retirement' and worked very nicely for me in Master, qualifying. Jean complimented him on his hunting. On Sunday Stella gave it a shot in master and got pretty fixated on the backstop structure. I had to wave her over to the scent line and stepped well beyond the stake, so would have DQ'd her with a handler error even if the judge had allowed her eventual indication. Of course she took a break for a dump while she was supposed to be tracking scent. Tom did say she arrived at the rats screaming, and worked like the Banshee she is.

Vickie M's Shayla (sp?) did extremely well in whatever class she was entered in, just going over time on the arrival. Would have passed otherwise. Vickie declared herself a fair-weather earthdogger and declined to come back for the even-wetter, even-colder, Sunday test.

As far as I can remember, we were the only two Cairns on-site. In contrast, the May test will look like a Cairn specialty :)

We had Turner in our sights, but the wather was just tooooooo ugly to make that 4 hour trip. I see 3 weekends in May between Whidbey and Turner. Can't wait to get the cairns underground.
