Amber and the zoo
Well, we went to the breeders a couple more times to look at the puppies. They were only 3 weeks so obviously we couldn't take them. A man and a woman had been there last time we were there and had picked up a little black brindle who was adorable. Well, the husband was in a car accident a couple of days later and, although he is alive, he was very very badly injured. The woman called the breeder asking if there was anyway, even though she didn't want to, if she could give the puppy back and purchase one later when she was sure she could devote time to it. Anyways, to make a long story short, she was the one we had wanted but was already sold so through some horrible circumstances came a happy beginning for us. So, introducing to Cairn Talk for the first time: GRACIE She and Ellie get along pretty good so far. We were kind of worried at first because Ellie seemed aggressive towards her. Finally I just put Gracie on the floor and let her and Ellie play...they had a BLAST. Ellie is definitely trying to show her dominance but the puppy is just as "tough". I'm really wondering which one will be alpha! Anyway, here she is Amber and the zoo... We're the Cairns of America
Scully'sMom
Congratulations! It looks like you have two beautiful little girls. I'm really surprised the breeder allowed you to see the pups, let alone go near them. Our breeder does not let ANYONE near the pups until at least 6 weeks of age. Anyway...I wish you much happiness with your new furbaby.

Janet
shes soooooo cute! Makes me want one of each color. wish my husband felt the same....lucky you! Me too! my hubby is not a dog person he tolerates one for my sake ( although he loves Gem to bits and admitted when had a few drinks that she is fantasic and beautiful and could never part with her ) so I don't stand much chance of having two. They come one at a time in our house I am afraid.............now if it was up to me I would probably have a house full Oh and by the way Gracie is gorgeous It has often been said if you have a Cairn Terrier in your home for a year you will have one for the rest of your life
Amber and the zoo
Dan was the same way, he never had a dog and never wanted one...like I have posted before, it wasn't until I threatened to get rid of her that his true feelings came out. . ."I love her!" Now Gracie was actually HIS idea. I didn't dare bring up the idea and yet, here he is...wanting another. AND THEN...last night he said "Wouldn't it be perfect with three?" I'm just amazed and stunned at him and his newly found devotion for dogs. We're the Cairns of America

Tuckersmom
She is soo sweet. I would like to have another too. How hard can it be!?! No really, how much harder is it? Tucker is 17 mons - how would he do with a puppy. I take him out on a leash, how in the world would you take 2 out on a leash? I also heard when you get another puppy, they bond more with each other than with you (guess I'm selfish I want all the lovins!) Good Luck with Gracie, she is adorable! toomanypaws
I also heard when you get another puppy, they bond more with each other than with you (guess I'm selfish I want all the lovins!) I've got multiple dogs in my house, and they are all very much bonded to me. I like the fact that they will play w/ eachother so that I can get some housework done. Mine all bond w/ eachother for a short time, but their first choice is still me. I'm definitely alpha in their eyes. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/maiwag/terriersiggy.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" /> Beth, mom to Ninja (5), Hannah (7), Abbey (7 1/2), Kiara (10)
Amber and the zoo
I have already found that walking them can be difficult! I TRIED to put both Ellie and Gracie on a leash while pushing my daughter in a stroller. NOPE. Not gonna work. So, we ended up walking. Emily held Gracie's leash and I held Ellie's. It worked perfect and the looks we got from people were pretty funny. I should have taken a picture! The great thing about having two (so far) is Gracie entertains Ellie and they play while I cook dinner or put the kids down for a nap...time when Ellie usually had to be put in her kennel because she wouldn't leave the kiddies alone! Gracie is all of 3 pounds. We took her to the vet and she checks out perfect, just small. Ellie was just so rollie pollie...Now she is a cool 8 lbs at 6 months. lol. She used to feel pretty light but now, after carrying Gracie around, she feels like a ton!!! We're the Cairns of America

Eliz222
Gracie is adorable! How old is she? Don't give up on the walks. We had a hard time walking our two together, but now they walk really well. It's much easier as they become similiar in size.

we love izzy and ollie
I bought a great leash with double ends that I use to walk my two. It was difficult at first with the size difference, Ollie grew so quickly and it didn't take long for them to get used to it. I lucked out and found it at Petsmart on clearance. Your new little one is so sweet! Have fun! kasey
