pammyfay
I've been crossing my fingers that she'd make the cut (and not the cutting room floor), but Izzie's among the players for Animal Planet's next Puppy Bowl, on Super Bowl Sunday. You can see a photo of her here: http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/pu...ppyplayers.html During taping, she was a bit hesitant among all the dogs. Previously, she'd only played with one or two neighborhood dogs at a time. Imagine what she was thinking when three Samoyed pups (came toward her! So if I were to describe her on-camera action (what little of it there was), she definitely was on the defensive team. I think she had a good time, though. And she'll always be MY MVP! jodi0553
Awesome! I've never seen the Puppy Bowl before. I'll be sure to catch it! Just put my vote in for Izzie. I think Larry might have an upright friend who wrote one of those little clicking loop programs like people use to get pages to show up as the top hit on google (friday afternoon and the technical term for that is just totally slipping my mind!) 50,000 votes? no way! pammyfay
Omigosh! I just looked at the voting tally. (believe me, folks--i wasn't beggin' for votes for Izzie! I just wanted to let you know that a Cairn was going to be on. and, truthfully, her performance wasn't MVP quality, i admit!) Larry is adorable. In fact, I talked a bit to the owner who was there with him, and while Izzie was resting in her crate at one point, I let Larry cuddle up on me while his human went to get something to eat. Very beautiful dog. Jackson was a ball of fire! He gets an A+ and probably ought to be the "official" MVP. Here's how Izzie got on: The show is taped in Silver Spring, Maryland. A friend of a friend owns Dogma Dog Bakery in Arlington, Virginia. The owner is friends with one of the helpers on the show who is also a dog trainer in the area, and the trainer asked the bakery owner if she knew of puppies under a certain age that might be able to participate. Had to submit photos so the Animal Planet people could weigh in on Izzie, and she made the cut. (The bakery owner also had a new pup at the time, Bess.) We taped in October, so if you live in the DC/Virginia/Maryland area (or are planning a visit) and might be getting a pup that would then be about the same age as the other pups in the lineup, keep your ears and eyes open for "pups wanted" posters in pet shops, vets' offices, etc., or email Animal Planet. I believe I submitted Izzie's pics in September. So put it on your calendar! I think some of the best-playing pups there were littermates--some puggles, the samoyeds, etc., because they didn't have to get past the nervous stage. Darcy's Folks
Okay, so we've been watching 20 minutes here, 30 minutes there of the Puppy Bowl off of our tivo. We just got to the part where Izzie lays out the Sammy after the sammy had been pestering her! That was awesome - even got an instant replay! Way to show your stuff Izzie! It's been so fun to just sit and laugh at these adorable puppies. But by far, Izzie really is the best. We're not biased are we???? We think Izzie is so beautiful! Bailey has a HUGE crush! Hagar
I'm a little late with this, but thanks to the DVR, I've been watching the Puppy Bowl over the last few days. It's funny. At first I though it was just a cute TV show, but it got more interesting after I found out Izzy is a member of the forum. Now, it's like watching a local football game where the neighbors kid is playing. It's more interesting if you "know" one of the participants. Izzy was great. I thought the Samoyeds were a little on the rough side, and being littermates, tended to gang up on the others, but Izzy did get in some good licks when pushed. Thanks for letting him play!
