Hello all

My name is Darc and I live on Vancouver Island, BC. Canada

We will be getting our Cairn on January 27th and I can hardly wait. Our vet (the breeder as it so happens) mentioned in passing that she was expecting a litter in early December. Couldn't believe my ears. This has been a dog that we have wanted for a long time. Anyways - we have 2nd pick of the litter and will probably be taking a female. 3 brown and 4 dark red brindles were born and I am hoping 1 of the brindles strikes a cord with us.

We currently have 2 CHUBBY cats and an elderly German Shorthaired Pointer who has the nature of a saint.

All these critters enjoy our 1 acre property out of town.

I can't believe that I found this site and am so happy I have as it seems a wealth of info. It has been 12 years since we have raised a puppy and I think I am going to need a little help

I will of course post pictures as soon as I am able.

Oh wow, how I envy you. We got our pup at 5 months old so cant remember him tiny - ENJOY. Cairns are the most fun dogs who always make you laugh and yell at the same time (picture toilet rolls being shredded all around the house  )

Good luck and have FUN

Cheers Big Ears

Welcome to the board! You will love this place! Can't wait to hear the name and see some pictures! Good luck to you!

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

Welcome A"board". I believe that you will find this forum to be one of the greatest treasures while raising a pup. As the dogs get older we still rely on eachother for info, stories, laughs and tears.

This forum has kept amany of us sane. That's, of course, assuming that we were at some stage sane. Nonetheless, use us all as needed.

Welcome!

I have a 13 week pup that came home last month. We have three cats and a 5 year old German Wiredhair Pointer. Our GWP is a great dog. He is adjusting slowly to our new addition. The three cats are finally coming out of hiding.

Congratulations and welcome. New puppies are a treat but every day with our little guy enhances our lives as I'm sure yours will with you as well. Waiting for pictures.

Have you hugged your Cairn today?
